FAQs

What hours are you open?

Mountainview Dental is open Monday through Thursday from 8 AM- 4:30 PM.

Do you accept dental insurance?

Yes.  Our office will bill your insurance as a courtesy for you, but we are not a member of a “PPO” (preferred provider organization) with any insurance company.   All costs not covered by your insurance company are the responsibility of the patient.  We kindly ask for your portion of the treatment cost at the time of service.

Most of our patients use their insurance to help offset the cost of dental care.  Some of the more popular insurances with our office are:

  • American Benefits (Monongalia County Schools)
  • Delta Dental
  • Humana
  • MetLife
  • United Concordia

Your dental insurance is a contract you (or your employer) have together.  Mountainview Dental is not under contract with any dental insurance companies.  Our primary focus is our relationship with you and how we can help you achieve your oral health goals.

Are you accepting new patients?

YES.  If you are looking for a new dental home please call our office, 304-292-6760.  If you are an existing patient who knows someone who could benefit from the care we provide, please have them call our office.  Word of mouth referrals are our primary source of new patients.  Our goal is to develop lifelong relationships with our patients and we look forward to meeting you at your first visit.

How can I become a new patient?

  1. Call 304-292-6760 to set up an initial appointment. Our front office team will collect the information we need over the phone to get you into our system.
  2. Prior to your appointment, we will send you intake forms electronically. You can complete these at your convenience prior to the appointment date. If you have any problems with the electronic forms, we have IPads at the office you can use on your first visit to complete. If needed, one of our team members can help you with electronic forms.
  3. You will receive a text message appointment reminder prior to your appointment.
  4. On the day of your appointment, please arrive 10 minutes early.
  5. At your first appointment, you will meet Dr. Carrier. Working with Dr. Carrier, you will come up with a comprehensive plan aimed at achieving your goals for your teeth, mouth, and smile.
  6. Expect to be at the office anywhere from 60-90 minutes for your first appointment.
  7. Your first appointment is scheduled with Dr. Carrier, not with a dental hygienist. By scheduling this way, Dr. Carrier can create a customized treatment plan specific to you and your oral health goals.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first visit at Mountainview Dental will be scheduled with Dr. Carrier.  Usually, the first visit is around 60-90 minutes.  The goals of the first visit are:

  1. Get acquainted with Dr. Carrier
  2. For our entire team to understand the goals you have for your teeth, mouth, and smile.
  3. For Dr. Carrier to develop a game plan for how we can help you achieve your goals.

Normally, the first visit involves a lot of information gathering.  This includes health and dental history, taking X-rays, and Dr. Carrier completing a comprehensive examination.
